Welcome to The Weekly Top 3 — our look at the top 3 things on our mind here at Alaskans for Sustainable Budgets — for the week of October 3, 2022.
The Weekly Top 3 is a regular weekly segment on The Michael Dukes Show. The Show broadcasts on Facebook and YouTubeLive as well as via streaming audio from the Show’s website weekdays from 6–8am. I join Michael weekly in the first hour of Tuesday’s show, from 6:25–7am, for a discussion between the two of us about our three issues.
This week our top 3 issues are these: 1) we quantify the significant differences in the positions of the various candidates for Governor on the PFD (2:09), 2) we discuss the recent Salmon State report on AIDEA and explain why AIDEA is never going to produce returns comparable to those from the Permanent Fund Corp (19:56), and 3) we provide our take on why Alaska will remain at significant fiscal risk until the various sides in the debate work on a compromise along the lines of the legislature’s 2021 Fiscal Policy Working Group (27:59).
