The Weekly Top 3 (12.4.2023)
Another piece of the Cook Inlet puzzle; is the PF Bd headed off the rails again; if the #akleg isn't, why Alaskans should rein in campaign contributions + thoughts on the upcoming #akbudget
Welcome to The Weekly Top 3 — our look at the top 3 things on our mind here at Alaskans for Sustainable Budgets — for the week of December 4, 2023.
The Weekly Top 3 is a regular weekly segment on The Michael Dukes Show. The Show broadcasts on Facebook and YouTubeLive as well as via streaming audio from the Show’s website weekdays from 6–8am. I join Michael weekly in the first hour of Tuesday’s show, from 6:10–7am, for a discussion between the two of us about our three issues.
This week our top 3 issues are these: 1) we discuss a recent article from Nat Herz that adds another piece to the Cook Inlet gas puzzle (2:14); 2) we look at whether the Permanent Fund Board is still headed off the rails (19:34); and 3) we explain why we believe that if the Legislature isn’t going to fix campaign contributions, then Alaskans should through an initiative (37:53).
And then, at the end, we spend a bit of time discussing what we will be looking for in the upcoming proposed budget, revenue projection, and 10-year plan (47:38).
The segment is at the YouTube clip above. For those who prefer the audio version, it is available on our Spotify and Soundcloud pages. Go to the Show’s Soundcloud page here for this and other complete podcasts of The Michael Dukes Show.
