How $$oil is doing as a new FY begins; the $8 π½ππ‘π‘ππ€π£ question around the PF ERA & how recent developments on an old capital budget project affect our reaction to new ones
Welcome to The Weekly Top 3 β our look at the top 3 things on our mind here at Alaskans for Sustainable Budgets β for the week of July 24, 2023.
The Weekly Top 3 is a regular weekly segment on The Michael Dukes Show. The Show broadcasts on Facebook and YouTubeLive as well as via streaming audio from the Showβs website weekdays from 6β8am. I join Michael weekly in the first hour of Tuesdayβs show, from 6:25β7am, for a discussion between the two of us about our three issues.
This week our top 3 issues are these: 1) our periodic update on how oil prices and production are doing β this time as we start the new fiscal year β and what that might mean if the trends continue as the fiscal year plays out (2:06); 2) the $8 billion question around the claim, by some, that the PF earnings reserve is in trouble (19:07); and 3) recent developments around an old capital spending issue, and how those should inform our judgment going forward on new projects (28:01).
The segment is at the YouTube clip above. For those who prefer the audio version, it is available on our Spotify and Soundcloud pages. Go to the Showβs Soundcloud page here for this and other complete podcasts of The Michael Dukes Show.
