The Weekly Top 3 (7.4.2022)
Why Gov Dunleavy's budget decisions put #AKfiscal back behind the 8-ball; no, #AKLNG won't result in "massive revs to the state" & as some leave, why other lege are STAYING in the #akleg
Welcome to The Weekly Top 3 — our look at the top 3 things on our mind here at Alaskans for Sustainable Budgets — for the week of July 4, 2022.
The Weekly Top 3 is a regular weekly segment on The Michael Dukes Show. The Show broadcasts on Facebook and YouTubeLive as well as via streaming audio from the Show’s website weekdays from 6–8am. I join Michael weekly in the first hour of Tuesday’s show, from 6:25–7am, for a discussion between the two of us about our three issues.
This week our Top 3 issues are these: 1) the Governor’s FY23 budget decisions and how those flow through to the 10-year plan (2:14); 2) why, even if successful, #AKLNG won’t result in “massive revenues to the state” (20:32); and 3) while some legislators are leaving the legislature, others are staying because they are continuing to find ways to spend on their pet projects (26:56).
The segment is at the YouTube clip above. For those that prefer the audio version, it is available both on our Spotify and Soundcloud pages. For this and other complete podcasts of The Michael Dukes Show, go to the Show’s Soundcloud page here.
